Group project, creating a multimedia campaign to market the student portfolio show.
THE GRAD SHOW showcases Spokane Falls Community College graduate portfolios from the Applied Visual Arts Graphic Design, Photography, Interior Design, and Digital Media programs.
One night, one BIG portfolio show!
Welcome! We are excited to share our ROOKIES concept for the 2018 Grad Show.
We developed a concept that we believe is relatable and can tie all four degree programs into one collective team. All four programs have been at practice and are now ready to bat. It is unique. We present to you ROOKIES, and here’s the pitch!
For the logo we wanted to channel a vintage feel from classic baseball teams (i.e.Dodgers).
The distressed style, seen throughout our presentation, is to show that we’ve worked hard and slid home many times.
The posters prominently display the logo, to catch attention, while also featuring baseball-like imagery (such as the white shape of the baseball diamond) alongside four different photo backgrounds, which represent the four different programs.
Viewers can quickly associate the concept of Rookies with the concept of the grad show itself. As soon as viewers see the posters, they know exactly what event they are promoting.
The logo also changes between posters, boasting four different variations of baseball-oriented taglines.
The invitation is reminiscent of old baseball tickets. It includes blocked elements, and added details similar to those found on tickets.
Information guides recipients to the website. All information can be found on one handy sheet. The back is inspo, can be hung up and used as a keepsake.
The website design matches the concept. It offeres access to view the work, lists the four programs, and has an RSVP and link to the Facebook page. A counter ticks down to the Grad Show "playoffs," a friendly reminder of the show's location and date.
Baseball quotes are used throughout. Student work can be seen in the Roster; cards flip when clicked to display the student's work and stats. We finish with a simple invite again to join us at our big game.
The focus of social media will be on three platforms; Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. A Snapchat filter will be available at the event, with the content reminiscent of the website baseball cards.
The following types of social media posts will be featured:
We’ve broken down the entire marketing plan into easily manageable tasks, which will be completing over a period of six weeks.
The live updates and snapchat filters posted on the day of the event we feel will greatly increase the amount of exposure to viewers who may have not seen promotion about the event before then.
